Roosts (Wide View)
“All the birds seemed to prefer one old bridge pier to any other, except for a few that liked a scrubby tree on the pier in front of it. (See a closer view of the main roost here and the scrubby tree roost here.)
These are piers for a bridge that was never finished, the South Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge, part of Vanderbilt’s Folly.
The bridge beside it is the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad Bridge.
And that’s Harrisburg, PA in the background.”
Wonderful shot! I don’t think the birds are complaining about Vanderbilt’s Folly.

This is really funny. Your toes (assuming those are yours) always strike me as a sort of odd-looking person in the frame. In this case, pondering the serene water scape.
They are self portraits, or at least that’s the way I see it. We get a real good energy from the person and where they are, without any of the usual signs that may bring up that old judgment demon, you know, like faces, hair styles, clothes, things that usually tip us off about a person. This way we just get to enjoy their experience along with them.
that looks beautiful, almost like an abandoned flood location! very cool.
I thought something similar. Last thing on my mind was that this was a bridge that was never built.
Adorable! What a funny blog you have here. I LOVE it! lol
It is fun, thanks, Beth!
