Jared writes, “throughout my scholarly career I worked to find ways to make class time not only anti-boring, but also helpful for my studies…it was always my opinion that if you paid attention in class and could actually listen to the teacher you would do well…lessening the importance and stress of homework and such…anyway…that might be a little bit of stretch, because to be honest…I have always loved to create art and surf…and when I am somewhere where the latter of those passions cannot be accessed, well then I have to find a way to access it…and in a classroom, when I have infinite paper and ink…well, what should I do…stoked doodling…here are some of my favorites from the last classes of my collegiate time…
as an interesting note…most of the doodles are representations of my recent surfing experiences or of pictures of my heroes…I will give a background to each (since they are such elaborate important pieces)
March when the waves were small, the water was cold, and the horizon known as graduation was finally in full view
this was a morning back in April when I had scored a certain spot empty (which was bizarre) and roping (which was also bizarre)…I met a rad person that day who is now a friend and rode JP’s epic Bonzer Egg to froth levels beyond me…
on the top is a speed floater that I feel has become a standard deal for me, both in class notes and the water…people say floaters are lame…but I think they are a fun, efficient, and stylish way to navigate waves…the bottom is Rob Machado on an alaia from a perspective that is difficult to doodle with a pen…but if Rob can get that pitted on an alaia…I think I can eventually get this angle down.”
Love the drawings!

Thanks for the love ToeMail…expect some back!
