“Thought I’d send along an image from a painting I did in 2010 called “Midlife.” This section of the painting (which appears near the bottom of the 36″ x 60″ canvas) shows my grandmother Vera on her wedding day in 1929, positioned (by me) on a solid-looking pedestal. To the right of her is a pair of bare feet walking on a log, and appearing very natural and well-balanced. Both of these images are “grounding” for me, and sort of ground the large painting. “
