“These are my daughters beflowered toes courtesy of Jenny, a Balinese woman who paints nails on Kuta Beach for a living. I have been going to Bali on and off for 20 years and each time I have been I have seen Jenny, in the same spot, still smiling and often wearing one of my mum’s old bras. Despite all the tourists in Bali it seems like the locals don’t ever get any richer. They always have a smile on their faces, are happy to chat and joke with locals and tourists alike and help each other out in numerous ways, swapping kids, different nail polishes and commentaries on the passing stream of walkers, joggers, sunbathers and drunks.”
She did a great job. Very cute!
Check out Sue Ann’s Balcony !

So pretty.
Is this some kind of master plan where you’re trying to get feet to take over the universe?
Absolutely!
a very nice concept, feet over the world …
Thanks for dropping by, Aransy!
Beautiful toes, sad story about smiling Jenny. Why is that that they don’t become better off. I’ve never been there, but know people who would love to move there. It must be nice.
People rave about it. Perhaps everything is just too cheap?
I don’t know. I watched House Hunters the other day and these folks were hoping to rent a bed and breakfast sort of place for $180,000 a year. I thought that seemed high for the places they were looking at. Maybe we ought to organize a visit there? I’m game!!!
Wow, so much for that theory, lol. Visiting is not a bad idea.
