“The monastery dates back to the first half of the 13th century and has been reincarnated as the College des Bernardins, a center dedicated to research, contemporary art exhibits and performances, meetings and debates in addition to theological education. We found it on the way home from a botanical garden, not having noticed it before. It has just been cleaned and renovated, its formerly dark, soot and dirt smudged skin replaced by a rich rosy beige color.
The characters in my novel visit Paris in the mid-1800s and would have gone to a place like this. For more about the novel, a romance with Victorian feminist themes, go to Margaret of the North ! “
Fantastic!
