“Here is a photo I took in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, India, this past February. This is the foot of Lord Gomateshwara, a Jain saint. The statue is 57′ tall and hewn from a single stone. It’s the world’s tallest monolithic statue. To see the statue up close and personal, you have to hike up 614 rugged steps, but the climb is worth it. “
