Intramuros, Manila, Philippines

15 Oct

Intramuros means ‘within the walls’ in Latin.  It is an area that is fully enclosed by large walls, built by the Spanish in the 16th Century to protect the newly formed city of Manila.  A fun, cheap day out in Manila is to explore the area and look at the historic part of the city.  It is the oldest part of Manila and it is possible to walk on top of the wall almost all the way around.
