I have never stepped on red sand or dust before…. must be kinda have a different feeling and sight?
Not sure, I get the feeling that it is finer than “regular” sand

Could be something that happened a million years ago, but not sure, we are not geologists, lol
Something to do with the sand having high amount of iron or chemical compound of Fe.
