Deadman’s Beach, North Stadbroke Island, Queensland, Australia

29 Dec

Stradbroke or Straddie as it’s called and Minjerribah, in the local Indigenous language, is in Moreton Bay and close to where I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.  It is one of my favourite places.  Often, when I travel, I find myself thinking “Why aren’t I just at Straddie?”  There are three small towns on the island with permanent communities but, of course, many love to go there for holidays.  At the right season, you can stand on the headland and watch whales as they migrate up and down the coast.

      It’s a very “feeling” image.
