“Sydney’s suburbs have amazing birds (Cockatoos, Kookaburras, Rainbow Lorikeets …) and other nature’s wonderful creatures (such as Possums) that like to visit gardens, sing or weave nests – some simply to sit on top of the clothesline and watch you hang out the washing, or eat Mimosa pods after the flowers have disappeared, making a pain of a mess you need a heavy rake to move. So in accommodating that, in more than twenty years my back yard had blossomed with all sorts of shrubs, bushes and trees – but, the green lawn slowly died. Decided to prune the shrubbery, let a bit more sunshine to ground zero and – plant a new lawn. My excited foot watches from the bedroom window the new shoots of greenery, which I am certain will re–direct the neighbourhood cats to relieve themselves in the soil under the shrubs and not where lawn once was and is again. Ah, the life that happens in a back yard.”
Gorgeous backyard, can we come for a visit?
