Two thirds of the way through my round the world trip. I last visited Doha, Qatar in 2007 and it is even more wonderful than I remembered it. This photo was taken from the tranquil park grounds of the Museum of Islamic Art which commands a great view of the Doha skyline across the bay.
Awesome….simply awesome!

Thanks!
You should try living here, not so tranquil then. :s
Yeah, for sure…easy for us tourists, eh? However I just came from Delhi and Cairo and Doha is certainly a lot tamer.
Rowdy place is it?
I love the giant water storage tanks that have been painted with various colours and designs. But Doha is no place to live for any length of time.
Too bad, it looks so new, so contemporary, but not without contemporary issues I suppose
Doha is OK, I lived there on and off. It’s a small peninsula and it’s starting to turn itself into Dubai, but with a long way to go. It’s also one of the richest places on Earth – I just wish they’d fix the pavements and wash the place now and then.
