I thought you might be interested in seeing these photos that I took while on a recent Brismania adventure (the day of the statue for the children) with a friend. We had just been for a girl’s manicure/pedicure morning and as you can see chose completely different colours so that we thought we looked rather like a grapevine together!
The photos were taken near the statue in Roma Street, Brisbane.
The link to my website is http://brismania.com which as you may be aware, is an attempt to find something cool in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia, every day for a year.
Nice shots, looks like you guys were the coolest something in Brisbane that day!
STREET ART: Kitten Stix
Between issues we sometimes have stuff sent to us we want to share with ya. Kitty is a Brisbane-based street artist. If you’re around the city, keep your eye out for her paste ups!
More of her on Tumblr.

Spray Can Artist
Late in the afternoon the artist works on, surrounded by the tools of his trade and a few bystanders who appear to have other things on their mind. Like many of us they probably have seen it all before, the way surreal landscapes are created using bowls, cans, lids and other objects as stencils. The way the paint is manipulated with paper towels, glossy magazine pages and sponges.
Even though we may have seen it all before it’s hard not to be impressed by how quickly the artist works and how vague everything is until that moment when all the elements come together and we see the final image for the first time.
Very true and great shot!

“I’m having dreams and little intuitive flashes right now, future stuff, world events, personal stuff… Wouldn’t it be lovely if those guides/angels/your higher self; call ‘em what you will, gave you just a little more info at times?
Here’s a little doodle I made to start the day off that sort of echoes what’s happening with me right now: “

Great shot and cute kangaroo!

bidjara writes, “Little ones are so adorable and thinking outside the box a little, can work when photographing. Being a fan of black and white photography, I took this photo of her little foot, switched it to black and white and was instantly reminded of how small and cute she was. It’s an interestingly different way to capture a moment, but it works.”
So cute and really great shot!
