I met this incredible Norwegian boy at the hostel in Byron Bay. He was one of the most interesting people I have ever met, and possibly the happiest. Sindre was all smiles, all laughs.
We rented surf boards together with my free passes, and he and I tried out the waves on Main Beach my second-to-last morning in Byron.
He plans to come back to Sydney before he heads home, and then possibly a trip to the US (and a roadtrip with me) could be in the future.
Wonderful shot, you two look pretty good together! :)

Guess who’s super amazing boyfriend organized a surprise holiday for me for our 4 year anniversary? (If you guessed mine, you’re right!) Seriously, how well did I score guys!
I hopped into the car to drive away for a week of fun to celebrate mine & Dan’s anniversary and had no clue where I was going! So exciting. He had all the details written on a piece of paper that I just was not under ANY circumstances allowed to look at! After about an hour of cruising down the freeway, we ended up here. Don’t be fooled by the 80′s looking pictures on the website, this place was GORGEOUS! The sea was just about 20 metres away from our verandah! There was a huge bed & spa bath! They had free chocolate and port (making it probably the best place on earth)! It’s located just between Blue Bay and Toowoon Bay, just a 5 minute walk from The Entrance. It was truly the perfect place to escape for a week.
Awesome shots, such a gorgeous couple! :)

It is my wish that you may have a better and freer life than I have had. Recommend virtue to your children; it alone, not money, can make them happy. I speak from experience; this was what upheld me in time of misery.

Meet Yoga’s hottest couple. LA-based Equinox instructor Briohny Smyth mesmerized viewers with her gravity-defying arm balances in “The Contortionist,” which sparked significant conversation in and around the yoga community. So naturally we brought her back — this time with her new husband, Dice Iida-Klein, also an Equinox yoga instructor and star in his own right (see him master the floating flow on a paddle board). When you watch the Acro Yoga session we captured, you’ll see their performance is more than an amazing physical feat. It’s a display of the strong emotional connection that has grown, and is continuing to grow between them. It’s the type of connection that, at times, made the crew on set feel like they should leave the room…We asked the pair what’s really happening during these intimate sessions. Here’s what they had to say:
When I first started learning, my biggest takeaway was that it’s really about the base — the person on the bottom — and if you’re a strong base, anybody can fly with you. The key is communication with the base- and trust. I could do all of these poses on my own, but I’ve never been very good at trusting people, which is something that most of us women gain over time — especially when it comes to men. It was a real challenge for both of us to go from singular practices, where we had full control, and release control to one another. It was a really big thing for me because I was a single mom, and I had built my own businesses, so it has always been about having two hands on the wheel. When you’re on top in Acro Yoga, it’s all about letting go and trusting one hundred percent, because if you fight back, it’s much harder for the base. So, Dice and I went through a lot of little tiffs of, “You’re doing it wrong — No you’re doing it wrong!” and every single time it always came down to me letting go. And for Dice, who has always had a tough time expressing himself, he had to work really hard to master his duty as a base, because he has to be extremely communicative and tell me what he needs and what he needs from me. So for both of us, it was just the balancing act-balancing not only our bodies, but also our personality issues.
I definitely think what Bri said is very true. I mean, it’s learning how to balance each other’s personalities. I would say Bri is a little more of a control freak than I am, but when it comes to being flown, she has to give up control, and I have to take over, and for me it’s very gratifying to be the foundation. It’s kind of like I’m the rock, and I think that’s how I feel with this family [Briohny and her daughter] away from Acro Yoga. I’m learning my place as being the man of the household, and I’m learning for me it’s not about directing anybody. It’s more or less the stronger I am, the stronger they’ll be. Just by standing tall, I think everything else just falls into place.

Great pictures, truly a world classic! :)
A friend, Teresa, is vacationing with her family in Puerto Rico, and she posted this photo on her Facebook page.
We have arrived in Western Australia, known as the most expensive and the most isolated of the developed cities in Australia…but it sure is a beautiful one! Locals nicknamed Western Australia as “WA = Wait Awhile” due to the laid back pace. In this picture, we’re standing in front of Perth Water. It’s the section of the Swan River. You can find ferry tours to Rottnest Island or to one of the local beach communities, Fremantle.
Nice shot, looks like a beautiful city! :)

Since reaching Koh Chang, we dawned our island attitudes, and have been enjoying having nowhere to be but in a hammock or on the beach.
The laid back pace of life on this lush island is a refreshing change from the bustle of Bangkok.
With one main road going most of the way around the island, we are thankful to say it nearly impossible to get lost or wander for hours in search of our desired eating establishment (which can’t be said of either Bangkok or Chiang Mai.)
Though we have certainly not tired of Koh Chang’s alluring blue waters, towering coconut trees and sunshine, we have decided to say hello Koh Kood, a neighboring island to the south. Our feet should touch Koh Kood’s sands by 2pm tomorrow.
Sounds like a really nice place to just be! :)

Having lunch one day in Hyde Park when I saw “Toothy Dancer” getting up and dancing to a busker like nobody’s watching for a good 30 minutes or so. He was having an absolute blast and it didn’t matter whether or not there were people walking past poking fun at how he was dancing or that he was singing along to some of the tunes. He looked happier than everyone else around him. :) (edit: I’ve uploaded a video of him in action to YouTube – see it here)
Bit shitty about missing the focus of the girl jumping in the last photo but what can you do? I’ll try to be better prepared next time!
Great shots, look pretty darn good to us! :)

It happened so fast but this image was always stuck on my mind; the moment that unfolded as I reacted to it. She turned around, saw him and smiled. She walked over, they held hands and they kissed. At that moment, her leg went up like a princess in a fairytale story would when she is kissing somebody and its over.
I only managed to capture one frame and really enjoyed the moment shared by the couple.
Close your eyes and I’ll kiss you, Tomorrow I’ll miss you.”

Well winter is almost over, but we still have to get through February. For this dreary month I will be posting a series pictures from my trip to Paris last summer, each post with a different emphasis. I will start with a street photography series of what’s really at the heart of every city, the people.
