12 DecOnce upon a time, there was a lost girl. She didn’t know she was lost until she graduated high school. All her friends were off to college or university, a clear plan in mind. She was the only one who chose to follow her heart to Africa, in search of her path in life. Somewhere in the middle of Africa, she got bitten by a bug. The oh so very famous travel-bug. It was through this bite, that she wasn’t lost anymore. This bite lit up her path and continues to do so. The lost girl wasn’t lost anymore.
Although the lost girl found her lit path in life, it wasn’t as smooth and easy to walk on as she had thought. The path had high hills and deep valleys, thick thorny bushes, rocks and pebbles as far as her eye could see. It’s not an easy path and it would take all her strength to concur her path in life. But she also knew as long as the light was with her, she could see the beauty amongst everything.
She lived happily ever after.

22 Apr“El Nido is located about 238 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa. Most of the islands in El Nido have pockets of fine white sand beaches and coves – perfect for sunbathing and picnic lunches.
With over 40 beaches to discover, El Nido, Palawan is definitely THE destination for island hopping. On our first day, we were welcomed with the sight of enchanting lagoons with tranquil turquoise-green water and caves that can actually take you to hidden, white sandy beaches. Perfect. Absolutely, stunningly PERFECT.
If you really love nature (like me), then El Nido is the perfect place for you. Since I couldn’t remember the names of some of the Islands, I suggest you visit the place yourself. You won’t regret it.
El Nido is indeed a magical place. A gift of nature, so to speak. No wonder why Alex Garland got his inspiration to write his first book, “The Beach” in one of the islands surrounding Bacuit Bay. “

22 Apr“Last weekend I was itching to go on a mini adventure, so I grabbed my mom and went on a day trip to Santa Barbara. We went pretty much without an agenda and decided to see where the wind would take us.
It was a gorgeous day to be out. The sun was brightly shining and the sky was so clear and blue. We were taking a stroll along Sterns Wharf when we saw a big banner for wine tasting, and of course that got me really excited. A closer look revealed the “Deep Sea Tasting Room” right on the pier! With a name like that how could you say no? We decided to check it out and that turned out to be a great decision.
The wines were pretty good, but it was really the breathtaking view that made all the difference. The tasting room is on an elevated level which makes it feel like you’re on the upper deck of a cruise ship (all without the motion sickness and wobbliness of a real ship of course!). At $10 for 6 tastings this experience is a steal! Their award-winning 2008 Deep Sea Chardonnay and 2008 Rancho Arroyo Grande Zinfandel were my personal favorites.
We spent the rest of the day walking around then watching the sunset. It was a lovely day and I wish I could do it all over again! “
