Our mission is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
How? By painting your toenails teal, the ovarian cancer color. By getting your friends to paint their toenails teal too and then by talking with people when they ask about it, to make sure that they know the signs of this whispering killer.

From Debra over at Creative Ramblings,
“For ovarian cancer awareness, I painted my toes teal last night. I follow Teal Toes on Facebook. You can send them a picture of your teal toes to be used in a slide show to help raise awareness about ovarian cancer. I went outside this morning, with my camera in hand, to take a picture of my freshly painted toes. I just stepped off the back stairs and these two swallowtail butterflies were fluttering about. They were so beautiful! One landed right next to me flashing her pretty teal wings. I took it as a sign of hope. This is my 3rd year of being cancer free. =) Please visit the Teal Toes website here and learn the symptoms. Paint your toes teal for your mothers, your sisters, your daughters, for all women. Help spread the word!”
That’s just a great story and a very creative collage of toes! Teal Toes has a website and a Facebook page with over 300 Teal Toes photographs!

Any time of year is good for teal toes, but we especially recommend September, the ovarian cancer awareness month!
What a great project to raise awareness of a killer disease that all too often is only diagnosed when in advanced stages. I tip my hat – or should that be pull off a sock? – to Teal Toes and the excellent work they are doing! And please drop by their website for information and their Facebook page for tons of toe photos and more! Yay! for Teal Toes!
