El Nido, Palawan, Philippines
22 Apr“El Nido is located about 238 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa. Most of the islands in El Nido have pockets of fine white sand beaches and coves – perfect for sunbathing and picnic lunches.
With over 40 beaches to discover, El Nido, Palawan is definitely THE destination for island hopping. On our first day, we were welcomed with the sight of enchanting lagoons with tranquil turquoise-green water and caves that can actually take you to hidden, white sandy beaches. Perfect. Absolutely, stunningly PERFECT.
If you really love nature (like me), then El Nido is the perfect place for you. Since I couldn’t remember the names of some of the Islands, I suggest you visit the place yourself. You won’t regret it.
El Nido is indeed a magical place. A gift of nature, so to speak. No wonder why Alex Garland got his inspiration to write his first book, “The Beach” in one of the islands surrounding Bacuit Bay. “

Barbados
15 Apr“Barbados has always been a place that I have been dying to go. I don’t know anyone who has been there and I knew I had to check it out. One of my travel dreams is to visit every island in the Caribbean. We just returned from our ah-may-zing trip and I can finally check this off of my list! Here are a few pictures from my vacation.
One of the highlights of our trip to Barbados was our snorkeling trip. We booked a catamaran trip that was nothing short of spectacular. We were picked up from our resort bright and early and our driver gave us a mini tour of the island on the way to our boat. I was a tad skeptical because where we were staying, the water was very, very rough. The driver informed us that only the east side of the island has rough waters, and she was taking us to the west side where the water is basically still. It is amazing how different this part of the island was.
We chose to take the trip on one of the smaller catamarans (only 10 people – including the 2 who worked on the boat), and it was so worth it. They took us out to an area where the sea turtles “hang out.” As soon as we got into the water the turtles were swimming all around us! It was insane. I can’t believe how close they were getting to us. My underwater digital camera paid for itself on just this one experience. “

Balmoral Beach, Sydney, Australia
13 Apr“At 3am this morning, the household was woken by our neighbours who thought it would be a great idea to jump into their pool and yahoo until well after 4am. I wasn’t really able to get back off to sleep after that; instead tossing and turning until just after 5.20am. It wasn’t really how I planned to spend Good Friday. So, as you can probably guess, I decided to get up and head out to take some sunrise photo’s again. Today, I revisited Balmoral Beach in Sydney’s lower north shore. It was a stunning morning, full of promise for the glorious day ahead.
Frustratingly I forgot my 9 stop ND filter this morning (I left it on my other lens). This was taken with my 3 stop ND filter; and yes, those are my feet! “
