These type of small bridges were very common till some time back. As per my observation, these narrow bridges acted as a moderator for drinking. People were very cautious not to drink too much, so that they could cross these bridges safely. Now, the roads and bridges are wider, so this self regulatory system failed.

    ha! during costa rica;s rainy season, i crossed over a suspension bridge and later either climbed a ladder to get to the ‘back entrance to my place, or walk across a fallen tree to get to the ‘formal’ entrance. whenever a local tried to send beer or tequila my way i would remind them of my walk home, and they’d always respect that request!!!!

    this made me chuckle – there’s a lot of truth to that! z

    That bridge would scare the crap out of me, don’t know if I could make it across!
