Happy Bench Monday: Desert Tortoise Edition

Yuma Conservation Garden, Yuma, Arizona, USA

Rigor Mortis was a Tortoise who never moved in his shell
Look into his eyes and you would say he was under a spell.

The other tortoises were having a big race.
They said, “Rigor Mortis, pick up the carapace!”

But Rigor just stood stiff with a foot dashed to the air.
And his eyes still glazed over with an indecent stare!

The tortoises started to grieve
for Rigor seemed slightly out of breath
Which leads us to believe
that Rigor Mortis had reached his untimely death.
